The instructor
Giorgio Caramanna
This course has been developed and taught by Giorgio Caramanna, the author of the book “Risk Management for Diving Operations.”
Giorgio is a consultant for the Diving Program of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (USA) and has more than 30 years of experience as a professional diver.
He received his Ph.D. from the University of Rome “Sapienza” (Italy), where he worked on underwater volcanic gas sampling using innovative procedures that involved scuba diving.
For his MSc project, he explored, mapped, and sampled a series of sinkholes, including the “Pozzo del Merro,” the second world’s deepest flooded sinkhole, being explored to a depth of 392 meters using ROVs and technical cave diving.
Giorgio’s experience is now at your service in this training.
